Proud Flesh

My new horse has a proud flesh problem - he get its, rubs off all the medication, and makes it grow bigger. If we bandage it, the edges of the bandages rub his legs and start 1 or 2 more wounds that turn into proud flesh. Does anyone know how to handle this sort of thing, and how to prevent it? Thanks!

You didn’t mention where are the leg the proud flesh is. I have had experience with it, and it is a slow process to heal, but it can be done.

I agree with you that proud flesh has slower to heal.

keep it dry and clean as much as possible and try to visit the vet if he needs medication.
