I had a mare, she was too temperamental, became the alpha, too much to handle. I have a gelding that was dead broke until the barn manager put him with 2 mares. Now he has stallion behaviors and i can t ride him. She will not move him back with the geldings so i am looking to move. I prefer a gelding. I get it at this little site called www.horse-pet-products.com it always does the trick. I have used it on myself once or twice it is for horses but whats good for mine is good for me. Plus it works wonders on sore joints and tendons. You need to try black magic it is an AMAZING hors eliniment i swear by mine. Comment on Our first mule by Mikki http://www.ourfirsthorse.com/2011/09/our-first-mule/#comment-64627 Mikki Sat, 07 Jan 2012 21:04:14 +0000 http://www.ourfirsthorse.com/?p=1727#comment-64627 She is cute, isn't she? Claire, she's about three years old. And she's pretty small for a mule. They are usually about the same size as an average horse - but they can be quite large or quite small, depending upon their breeding. If you breed a donkey to a Percheron, you'll get a pretty big mule! We saw some like that at the Grand Canyon, on their mule ride string. Donkeys can vary in size too - some are about horse size. In Jazzy's case, she's half small donkey and half small Quarter Horse. So she's just a little thing. I think 500 pounds might be stretching it. She is cute, isn’t she?
