1:30 AM Stall Mucking

Mucking by MoonlightMikki and are night people. We prefer staying up late and getting up later. Fridays are the worst days to try and resist this tendency because most of the time we don’t have to get up early on Saturday. So here we were 10 minutes ago in the middle of the night diligently cleaning horse stalls. And it occurs to me…what the heck are we doing? It’s the middle of the night, most of the eastern time zone is in bed and here we are mucking horse stalls. That’s some kind of crazy. We mentioned to a friend recently if she ever finds she can’t get to sleep around 2 AM and needs some company, head over to our barn. We’re bound to be there. Any other night time stall cleaners out there?

  1. I just stumbled across this blog while doing a google search for some other horse items. My job has me working swing (3pm – 11pm) and night shifts (11pm – 7am) and I often find myself cleaning stalls late at night either after or before I go to work. I have 6 stalls so it takes a while but it is allways nice to spend time with the horses.

Well we’ll have to think of you when we’re cleaning stalls in the early AM. We’ve been known to do it at 3 AM after returning from a long day trip. I don’t mind too much as long as it’s not cold and windy. 6 stalls by yourself? That’s a commitment.

    Thanks for the note!
